Transporting poles via train or bus?

Unread postby rainbowgirl28 » Sun Jun 04, 2006 5:02 pm

Has anyone ever taken poles on a train or (Greyhound) bus?

My teammate Peggy needs to get from St. Louis to Louisiana and they were planning on taking the train. They gave her a number for cargo (not open until tomrrow), but sounded skeptical that they would fit.

I was turned down without hesitation when I inquired at Metro North. I did carry a pole on the train when I got abandoned by my teammates in Heidelberg, Germany once. I just loaded it through a window and nobody complained.

She is going to rent a car and drive down, but if anyone has anything to share on this subject it could be interesting.
