With all the excitement from the Donetsk meet given to Isinbayeva's new world indoor record, I didn't realize until I started updating my files some other interesting national record features of the meet. The first thing to catch my eye was that Fabiana Murer's new Brazilian record was just one centimeter short of Stuczynski's 4.82m USA record at Boston a week earlier and tied the American record Stacy Dragila had previously held for five years. Then came Cathrine Larsåsen's 4.16m record for Norway. This was at least the third time that she had bettered her 4.12 national record this season, but on the earlier occasions the vaulting facility failed to meet the rules--planting box too deep or runway too high.
Other new national records this season, as I have them:
Women:
Brazil 4.81 Fabiana Murer 2009-02-15 Donetsk
Cambodia 3.40 Helene Kong 2009-02-03 Vittel
Central Afr Rep 1.80 Chancela Moundo 2008-11-30 L'Isle-sur-Sorgue
Gt. Britain 4.45 Kate Dennison 2009-02-014 Sheffield
Ireland 4.05 Zoe Brown 2009-02-14 Sheffield
Italy 4.35 Anna Bruno 2009-01-31 Udine
Italy 4.35 Elena Scarpellini 2009-02-03 Wein
Kazakstan 4.10 Olesya Yermoleko 2009-01-09 Chelyabinsk
Moldova 3.30 Lina Maftei 2009-01-30 Chinsinau
Norway 4.16 Cathrine Larsåsen 2009-02-15 Donetsk
Russia 5.00 Yelena Isinbayeva 2009-02-15 Donesk
Slovakia 4.20 Tina Sutej 2009-02-06 New York
Switzerland 4.45 Nicole Büchler 2009-02-08 Magglingen
United States 4.82 Jenn Stuczynski 2009-02-07 Boston
Men:
Australia 6.06 Steve Hooker 2009-02-07 Boston
St. Kitts 3.55 Adolphus Jones 2009-01-31 Houston
As usual, thanks to Mirko Jalava <tilastopaja.org> and Michel Saint-Raymond <http://www.athlerecords.net> for permission to use information from their comprehensive result and record websites and to Børre Lilloe for his personal communication about Larsåsen's previous record-bettering performances.

Just small correction: Tina is from Slovenia, not from Slovakia.

Re: New National Indoor Records
Pogo stick wrote that Tina Sutej, I listed as Slovakia, is from Slovenia. Sorry about that. She shares the SLO record with Teja Melink, who set it at 4.20 in 2005. The SVK record is Slavomira Slukova'a 4.12 from 2 February 2008.
And Anna Giordano Bruno's 4.40 is now posted by Saint-Raymond, although not yet by Jalava.

I think she knows this first hand - according to her username (annagb) she is the one who broke it.
