Pole Vaulters Grateful for New Pits Release: 11/24/2010

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - When the Manhattan College track & field teams begin their indoor season next week, the pole vaulters will be jumping into brand new pits. The new vaulting mats were made possible due to the generous contribution of Manhattan alumnus Fred Marro, who also donated a pair of sleds for weight training. The vaulters have been practicing on the new mats for a few weeks, and will first use them in competition next Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the season-opening Manhattan College Opener from Draddy Gymnasium.
